Event Calendar

Work In-Hand Clinic: April 13, 2025 from 9:30am-4pm (Lunch from 12pm-1pm)

Classical Horsemanship will be hosting a clinic on work in-hand at their barn in Fort Collins, CO.

Work in-hand is a ground work technique that helps to train the horses posture and teach them the aids for riding from the ground.

Work in-hand makes it easier for the horse to find their balance and cadence before putting the weight of the rider up. It can be great for learning how to rehab horses and solve problems that come up while riding.

This clinic is open to all riders and levels of experience.

If you have any questions feel free to contact us.

Sign up for this clinic will open in March 2025.

Annual Walking Race: June 21, 2025

Classical Horsemanship will be hosting our third annual walking race. In this event students and their horses race, walking as fast as possible without trotting. Then we set the race up again, but for the opposite, who can go the slowest without actually stopping. This is one of our favorite events of the year and is open to the public to come watch.

Stay tuned for a race start time to be announced when the event gets closer.

Drawing Clinic: July 13, 2025 (Time is to be determined)

Classical Horsemanship will be hosting a drawing clinic with master artist and assistant trainer, Bryan Gallegos. Drawing is not just about creating something it is about learning to train your eye. An artist’s eye sees details and shapes, a good rider’s eye should work the same way.

This clinic will be a fun mix of lecture learning about the history of riding and drawing activities.

Registration for this clinic will open in May of 2025.

Classical Horsemanship will be hosting our second in house horse show that will be open to the public. The event will show case our students, their horses, and what they have been working on. This is a great opportunity to see the work that we do with horses and learn more about our program. While at the same time having fun with music and creative outfits.

Craig Stevens Day: September 23, 2025 (Time is to be determined)

Classical Horsemanship will be celebrating our late friend and mentor, Craig Stevens, on his birthday September 23rd. For Craig Stevens day we do a group ride, all wearing plad shirts, jeans, and pony tails, just like Craig did. This group ride is to honor our beloved teacher and his wonderful sense of humor.

Mediterranean Clinic: October 12, 2025 from 9:30am-3pm (Lunch from 12pm-1pm)

Join us for a full day clinic on Mediterranean Work on Sunday October 12, 2024 from 9am-3pm.

Mediterranean Work is a very old type of work that we do with the horses to reestablish lightness in the horses, help horses with their trauma, learn how our horses move and is the basis of all the aids being in harmony with the horses.

Mediterranean Work is a great winter activity to do with your horse because all you need is a stall or similar small space.

This clinic is open to all riders and levels of experience. No need to bring a horse.
